Within a few weeks, Vinton residents are likely to see a unique, three-wheeled motorcycle cruising around city streets.
Inventor Steve Lucas and his assistant, Trent Brussen, are nearing completion of their second 3-wheeled, leaning vehicle.
The first 3-wheeler was a prototype designed to test and display the leaning suspension that Lucas has spent the past several years creating, testing and perfecting. While that scooter is functional, it's not designed for road use.
However, the converted Ducati motorcycle with two wheels in the front is already licensed for street use. Lucas is finalizing the design and hopes to have it ready to test in a few weeks.
Videos showing the capabilities of Lucas' Leaners are among projects planned for the near future.
