The Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School gym and Tilford Elementary auditorium were full of students from dozens of area school districts on Tuesday, when the East Central Iowa Choral Directors Association Honor Choir Festival took place.
Vinton-Shellsburg hosted the event, which included 380 singers from more than 30 elementary and middle schools.
Singers included fifth- through eighth-graders from Anamosa, Solon, Cedar Rapids, Linn-Mar, Vinton-Shellsburg, Oelwein, Marion, Calamus-Wheatland, Belle Plaine, Holy Family Schools, Iowa Valley, Center-Point Urbana, Delwood, Central City, Waukon and Tipton. The students rehearsed throughout the day for their evening performance, which took place in the VSMS gym.
