In memory of Barb: Bill Bolin & Cindy Elwick present $2,400 to FOTSI's Donita Casey & Julie Havran.

Barb Bolin loved dogs, and was often seen walking them.

Barb died last month, and her family said it was natural to give her memorial donations to the group that loves dogs as much as she did: The Friends of the Shelter, Inc.

Bill Bolin, Barb's twin brother, and big sister Cindy Elwick, visited the Friends of the Shelter store on 4th Street on Thursday, to present checks totaling $2,400.

Shelter director Julie Havran and volunteer Donita Casey accepted the donation; they said the funds may go toward a dog-walking area at the new Celebration Park.

This is an awesome contribution and memory of Barb. She was such a pleasure to talk to whenever I would run into here on the street. I think a plaque should be made in Barb's name also, to put along the dog walking path.
