Already, says Mandy Fisher, children have begun playing on the playground equipment that volunteers built in Garrison on Saturday.
Fisher said more than 40 volunteers, including Garrison area residents and some AmeriCorps members, worked to install the equipment, which was funded by donations and some grants.
"The build went awesome," said Mandy. "The project was completly finished by 6:30 pm. Shawn and I would like to tell everyone how thankful we are for the volunteers who worked so hard to get this acomplished. Also, we would like to thank Twin City Concrete & Bill Whitter Construction for the donations to this project."
The Garrison community as a whole has been very supportive throught the last two years of fund-raising, and it really showed at Saturday's build, she said.
