Roger Uthoff, Rick Ohrt and Pat Lyons are among the Lions working on the metal recycling project.

The Vinton Lions get collections started for the upcoming scrap metal fundraiser with industrial debris at Ideal Industries, the collection site. The service club is seeking donations from the public. Smaller items that fit in 4x4” cartons, as pictured here with Roger Uthoff, Rick Ohrt and Pat Lyons, can be dropped off at Ideal Industries Thursday, May 8 through Saturday, May 10. Larger items (appliances, etc.) will be accepted Saturday only, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ideal Industries parking lot, 1705 E St., Vinton’s Industrial Park. Donors who have no way to deliver larger items can call Ohrt at 472-4813 in advance for curbside pick-up.

For a full list of items accepted and not accepted see the FaceBook event page Vinton Lions Scrap Metal Fundraiser or click HERE.

Proceeds from partner A-Line Metals will help fund Lions’ community projects, including preschool vision screening, Reach Out and Read early literacy program with Virginia Gay Clinics, Leader Dogs for the Blind, and many more.
