· 11:51am March 18th, 2014
Throughout 2014, the North Central Region Campus of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of AmeriCorps.
The campus formally inducted its Class XX members on Friday, with its traditional ceremony. The special speaker was Asim Mishra of Chicago, who worked with Michelle and Barack Obama at the Public Allies organization in Chicago before become the presidential appointee as the Chief of Staff for NCCC.
Mishra told the students they had made the right choice by signing up for a year of service.
The teams have begun their first 6-week projects in a variety of areas of service. One team is helping set up new displays at an aviation museum in Sioux City.
