News :: Christmas giving begins with 'Stuff the Bus' and Angel Tree
· 10:45am December 2nd, 2013
LaNette Parker began Monday morning on the radio, where she spoke with Randy Lee of WMT about the Angel Tree program and the annual effort to collect gifts for the less fortunate children of the area.
The WMT 'Stuff the Bus' promotion made its annual trek to Vinton, where Lee met with Parker and manager Bethany Clemenson at Windsor Manor. Several listeners brought gifts to the assisted living center, as Clemenson and Parker spoke on-air about the program.
Later, Parker took the Angel Tree cards to US Bank and Farmers Savings Bank, where they now cover Christmas trees. Area residents are invited to visit the banks to pick up one or more of the cards and purchase the clothing and gifts indicated, then return them to the banks.
