News :: Accident on Highway 150 leads to drunk driving arrest

A man who told authorities he did not see the left turn signal of the vehicle in front of him was arrested for drunk driving after an accident that caused minor injuries to himself on Highway 150 on Sunday evening.
Jeeediah Ray Fratzke, 33, was northbound in a 1997 Monte Carlo when he attempted to pass Dennis Streeter, 65, who was also northbound on Highway 150. When Streeter slowed and attempted to turn left onto 55th Street Drive in a 2000 Chevy S10 pickup, the two vehicles collided.
Fratzke suffered minor facial injuries, and was arrested for OWI.

Driver 1: Dennis Lynn Streeter age 65 from Brandon
Vehicle 1: 2000 Chevrolet S10 Pickup Damage $3000
Driver 2: Jedediah Ray Fratzke age 33 from Vinton
Vehicle 2: 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Damage $3000
BOTH UNITS 1 AND 2 WERE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON 24TH AVENUE DRIVE. UNIT 1 APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION OF 55TH STREET DRIVE AND SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE DRIVER OF UNIT 1 SAID THAT HE ACTIVATED HIS LEFT TURN SIGNAL. UNIT 2 SAID THAT UNIT 1 DID SLOW DOWN, BUT DID NOT TURN ON HIS TURN SIGNAL. UNIT 2 ATTEMPTED TO PASS UNIT 1 AT THE INTERSECTION. UNIT 1 TURNED LEFT AND IMPACTED UNIT 2. UNIT 2 SUFFERED DAMAGE TO IT'S FRONT END, WINDSHIELD, AND PASSENGER SIDE. UNIT 1 SUFFERED DAMAGE TO ITS FRONT END AND DRIVER'S SIDE. UNIT 1 CAME TO A REST ON THE ROADWAY ON 55TH STREET DRIVE. UNIT 2 WENT INTO THE WEST DITCH, THEN CAME BACK ONTO THE ROADWAY AND CAME TO A REST ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF 24TH AVENUE DRIVE. BOTH VEHICLES HAD ONE PASSENGER.
THE ONLY INJURY WAS THE PASSENGER OF UNIT 2 SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO HIS FACE/LIP. EVERYONE WAS TREATED AND RELEASED.
FRATZKE WAS CHARGED WITH OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE 1ST OFFENSE.
