Friday was a normal day for Tilford Elementary students. They recited the Pledge of Allegiance; took some tests, and worked on reading.

But they students -- along with teachers and even cooks and office staff -- did it in their pajamas.

Friday was PJ Day at Tilford, a fun prize for the students to honor them for achieving one of the goals for their fund-raiser for custodian John Scriven, who is battling cancer.

The students will watch the winners of the pig-kissing vote kiss the pig next Friday, Jan. 18, at a 2:30 p.m. assembly. The students and staff raised $10,000 for John during last month's fund-raiser.

When I see everyone in their PJs today at school it warms my heart to think what wonderful people we have in this community! We couldn't have reached our goal without the friends and families of our students. You all ROCK!
