Et cetera :: GoVS mug sales at John's to raise funds for scholarships

GoVS (Generating Opportunities for Viking Scholars) is selling refillable mugs, which can be used at John’s Qwik Stop in Vinton. The $20 purchase price of the mug will give mug holders unlimited free refills of coffee or fountain pop at John’s Qwik Stop from August 21 to December 25.
The mugs will be available for purchase at John’s Qwik Stop (814 C Ave), Cedar Valley Bank & Trust (405 W 3rd St), US Bank (110 W 4th St), Farmers Savings Bank & Trust (401 B Ave) and Vinton-Shellsburg High School. The mugs will also be available on Friday, August 22 at the Fall Sports Blow out and the Vinton-Shellsburg vs Benton Community football game August 29.
Mugs will be sold during at Riverside Park during the Party in the Park II on August 24 and downtown during Boomtown from 10am-4pm on August 30. Since there are limited quantities of mugs available, it’s a first-come first-serve basis until they are sold out.
All proceeds from mug sales will be used to award scholarships to graduating seniors in the Vinton-Shellsburg school district.
GoVS is a locally operated and supported, non-profit, tax exempt scholarship foundation operated by an all-volunteer board of directors. Their purpose is to expand access to higher education by involving and assisting the community to support local students. This year the group awarded six $1,000 scholarships at the May 14th Vinton-Shellsburg Senior Awards night.
GoVS is an affiliate of The Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District Foundation. The organization replaces the "Dollars for Scholars."

GoVS(Generating Opportunities for Viking Scholars) is a local non-profit organization affiliated with the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District Foundation which is a 501(c)3 corporation. The purpose of this organization is to support graduates of Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District by providing scholarships through conducting fund raising activities during the year and receiving contributions/donations/endowments to help provide such scholarships.
To expand access to higher education by involving and assisting the community in supporting VS graduates with scholarships.
