Barbara Floyd-Campbell has sold hundreds of paintings; her work will be seen at the Art Festival

Barbara Floyd-Campbell is a long-time artist whose work has been seen in many art shows in Iowa and Colorado. She is one of the local artists preparing for the June 21 Art Festival.
Barbara shares the following information about her love of art:
I have been creating art, beginning at a very young age and took art classes all through school. After graduating high school I took painting lessons from George Carberry and sold my first commissioned painting in 1982. Previously I was affiliated with the Women Artists of the West and am currently a member of the Iowa Artists and the Vinton Guild of Fine Art .
I have now sold hundreds of pieces all over the U.S. and some internationally. Two of my oil painted agates did very well at the NSTRA (National Shoot to Retrieve Association ) Regionals and Nationals fund raising auctions. My artwork has won blue ribbons, Honorable Mention & Best of Show at the Benton County fair.
Some of the juried art shows, fairs & charity art auctions I have been accepted to are:
Grant Wood Art Festival, IA
Jones County Fair, IA
Linn Creek Art Festival, IA
Diamonds & Spurs Charity Art Auction, CO
Odyssey Art Auction, CO
Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame Art Show & Sale, CO
There have been articles written about my work in the Cedar Valley Times and the Cedar Rapids Gazette newspapers. I have also created the cover art for two published novels. A wall mural I painted for Gentle Dental in Cedar Rapids is now displayed at the UIHC Dental Clinic. You can view more of my work at
I work with oils, watercolor, charcoal, graphite, glass paint & photography. Graphite is my favorite medium. I am always fascinated with the different effects you can create with it. Art has been a true joy in my life and I am very thankful for this gift and for my family and friends who support me.
