Iowa Interstate Railroad makes donation to Eastern Iowa Honor Flight

On Wednesday January 23, 2014, the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight accepted a donation in the amount of $7240.00 from The Iowa Interstate Railroad Ltd, and their employees. This was part of a fundraising campaign that benefited both the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, and Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. The total amount raised was $15,380.00.
IAIS President and CEO Jerome Lipka stated, "Many of our employees are veterans. The employees of Iowa Interstate Railroad and Railroad Development Corporation have not forgotten the wounds and scars suffered by them and those who went before in keeping America free.
A 501(c)3 federally recognized non-profit, The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight provides veterans the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC at no expense to them to see the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. As we are dependent on individual and corporate support and donations for our operations, this generous donation from Iowa Interstate and their employees is greatly appreciated.
